This is Louise and apparently this is my new reading blog. Blogging has never really been a thing I do, but with all these fonts and colors and sizes, how could I not end up loving it.
I love reading, I really do. And as dorky as this may sound I could spend hours every day reading if I lurve* my book. I have fallen in love with so many books and characters I've gotten to the point where I will be talking to a friend about a book and refer to the characters as if they're my friends and I've been right beside them through everything. I just can't help the fact that I live for drama and the fact that a book can give me any story with any amount of crisis makes me swoon. Some examples of books (and their characters) I would die for are,
Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me (yes they are a series and yes it is the best freakin' series of all time)
Perks of Being a Wallflower,
It's Kind of a Funny Story,
Catcher in the Rye,
Out of My Mind,
When You Reach Me,
and of course like every other teenage girl I have fallen under the spell of the almighty John Green and have read almost every single one of his books with a strong passion.
These are just a few of my favorite book and as I'm sure you've caught on I LOVE REALISTIC FICTION. I am a sucker for a dramatic plot, a "suffering" teenager I can pretend to relate to and a hot hero to take them to Amsterdam before they all die.
But with my love of reading comes my love for writing. I love the idea that you can create a person through words. Nothing but words. I can make a character out of the person I wish I was, or who I would rather die then become. If I fall in love with a book I'm falling in love with the author. The one person who has created this girl or boy that I can say "SAME!" or "ME!" to because I truly do relate with these people who have been made up.
My favorite author of all time is Tahereh Mafi, a true goddess in the writing world who no one has ever heard of. She wrote the Shatter Me series and I could not get enough of her writing. I googled her ASAP after reading her books and needed to know what other books she's written, how old she is, what her family is like, where she lives, just everything and anything about her! I found I was totally fan-girling over this woman!(and kind of stalking her)
This post is probably long enough although I could go on forever and ever about these books, I won't bore my two readers... not this time at least.
If you have been living under a rock your entire life and have never read the books I mentioned before you seriously have to because they all changed. my. life.
Signing off.
*LURVE: a word I made up when I was three and I asked my mom what I should say if I "more then love something".
